A Dryad (1825–1905)
Adolphe William Bouguereau, a master of academic realism, presents an enchanting fusion of mythology and nature in "A Dryad." The dryad, a tree nymph from Greek mythology, is portrayed with such grace and detail that one can almost hear the leaves rustling in the wind. Bouguereau's technique of painting the skin tones and textures with an almost photographic precision gives the figure a vibrant presence. The composition is harmonious and balanced, with a subtle play of light and shadow that casts the nymph in a soft, ethereal glow.
Fun fact: Bouguereau was not only a gifted painter, but also a passionate advocate of academic art. What many don't know is that he created over 800 paintings during his career, many of which were dismissed as kitsch in his day. But his works experienced a renaissance in the 20th century, when art historians began to reassess his technical mastery and influence on the art world. Bouguereau was also a great lover of cats and often let his furry friends roam around his studio while he painted.

Print medium
We use extra-heavy (400g/m2) premium canvas made from 100% cotton. The high grammage and texture of the canvas ensures a particularly high-quality and almost three-dimensional appearance.
Environmentally friendly
We only use original and high-quality pigment ink which contains real pigment particles. This is UV-resistant, solvent-free, vegan and environmentally friendly.
UV & moisture resistant
Thanks to the UV resistance of our pigment inks, the prints do not fade or discolor and retain their color brilliance for up to 100 years.
