Cenotaph for Isaac Newton (1764)
Étienne Louis Boullée, an 18th-century French architect, designed the Cenotaph for Isaac Newton in 1784, a visionary project that was never realized. This monumental spherical structure, intended as a tomb and tribute to the famous scientist, was intended to symbolize the infinity of the universe and reflect Newton's discoveries in physics and astronomy. The design shows a gigantic hollow sphere with a diameter of 150 meters, surrounded by cypress trees symbolizing mourning. Inside, a beam of light was to fall through a hole in the dome and serve as an artificial moon at night. Boullée's design is an outstanding example of Enlightenment architecture, combining rationality and emotional impact.
Interesting fact: Boullée is considered one of the most important theorists of Enlightenment architecture. His visionary designs, including the Cenotaph for Newton, remained largely on paper and were never built. However, they had a lasting influence on the development of modern architecture and utopian architectural concepts.

Print medium
We use extra-heavy (400g/m2) premium canvas made from 100% cotton. The high grammage and texture of the canvas ensures a particularly high-quality and almost three-dimensional appearance.
Environmentally friendly
We only use original and high-quality pigment ink which contains real pigment particles. This is UV-resistant, solvent-free, vegan and environmentally friendly.
UV & moisture resistant
Thanks to the UV resistance of our pigment inks, the prints do not fade or discolor and retain their color brilliance for up to 100 years.
