Slädfärd till julottan (1882-1918)
John Bauer's "Slädfärd till julottan" is an enchanting example of his masterful ability to bring fairy tales and Nordic myths to life in his works. Interesting fact: John Bauer, born in 1882 in Jönköping, Sweden, was not only a gifted painter but also a passionate adventurer. Less well known is that he and his wife Ester tragically died in a shipwreck on Lake Vättern in 1918. Ironically, Bauer was an avid swimmer and had a deep connection to water, which makes his fate all the more tragic. His works, especially the illustrations for the book series "Bland tomtar och troll", have had a lasting influence on the depiction of fairy tale characters to this day.

UV & moisture resistant
Thanks to the UV resistance of our pigment inks, the prints do not fade or discolor and retain their color brilliance for up to 100 years.
