In 1832, he created "Otus Bengalensis" (Bengal Eagle-Owl), which captures the fascinating world of owls. Fun fact: John Gould was not only a talented illustrator, but also a shrewd businessman. He used his travels to Australia and other exotic locations to discover and document new species of birds. A lesser known fact is that his wife, Elizabeth Gould, played a significant role in his work. She was a gifted artist and helped create many of his early works before tragically passing away at just 37 years of age. Her contributions were long underestimated, but today her influence on Gould's success is increasingly recognized.

Print medium
We use extra-heavy (400g/m2) premium canvas made from 100% cotton. The high grammage and texture of the canvas ensures a particularly high-quality and almost three-dimensional appearance.
Environmentally friendly
We only use original and high-quality pigment ink which contains real pigment particles. This is UV-resistant, solvent-free, vegan and environmentally friendly.
UV & moisture resistant
Thanks to the UV resistance of our pigment inks, the prints do not fade or discolor and retain their color brilliance for up to 100 years.
