Dr. Robert Thornton was a notable English botanist and publisher who lived in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. His 1804 work, "Indian Reed," is a fascinating example of his dedication to the botanical art and science. The illustration is part of his famous work, "The Temple of Flora," which is considered one of the most beautiful botanical books of its time.
Interesting fact: Dr. Robert Thornton was not only a passionate botanist, but also a man with a strong sense of drama and spectacle. To finance the publication of "The Temple of Flora," he organized a lottery and even planned a major exhibition, but it never took place. Despite his efforts, the project was not financially successful, plunging Thornton into significant debt. Nevertheless, his work remains a testament to his vision and commitment to botanical art.

Our fine art giclée printers use 12 different ink tanks and produce museum-quality art prints. Thanks to specially pigmented inks, significantly more color nuances can be displayed than with conventional printing processes and other providers.
Print medium
We use extra-heavy (400g/m2) premium canvas made from 100% cotton. The high grammage and texture of the canvas ensures a particularly high-quality and almost three-dimensional appearance.
Environmentally friendly
We only use original and high-quality pigment ink which contains real pigment particles. This is UV-resistant, solvent-free, vegan and environmentally friendly.
UV & moisture resistant
Thanks to the UV resistance of our pigment inks, the prints do not fade or discolor and retain their color brilliance for up to 100 years.
