Theater Du Vaudeville (1882–1969)
Édouard Henri Léon Cortès, born in Lagny-sur-Marne in 1882, was a French painter known for his vivid depictions of Parisian street scenes. His work "Théâtre du Vaudeville" captures the vibrant atmosphere of the city, with bright lights and busy passers-by animating the streets. Cortès' ability to capture the play of light and shadow gives his paintings a special dynamism and depth. His works are a window into the Paris of the Belle Époque, a time of cultural and artistic flourish.
Interesting fact: Édouard Cortès was not only a master of the cityscape, but also an artist who consciously distanced himself from modernism. While many of his contemporaries turned to avant-garde movements, Cortès remained faithful to traditional painting. Another fascinating detail about his life is that he came from a family of artists; his father was the Spanish painter Antonio Cortès. Despite his successes, Cortès lived a secluded life and preferred to stay close to his birthplace, where he continued to paint until his death in 1969.

Print medium
We use extra-heavy (400g/m2) premium canvas made from 100% cotton. The high grammage and texture of the canvas ensures a particularly high-quality and almost three-dimensional appearance.
Environmentally friendly
We only use original and high-quality pigment ink which contains real pigment particles. This is UV-resistant, solvent-free, vegan and environmentally friendly.
UV & moisture resistant
Thanks to the UV resistance of our pigment inks, the prints do not fade or discolor and retain their color brilliance for up to 100 years.
