Prunus domestica (1801-1819)
Pierre Joseph Redouté, known as the "Raphael of flowers," was an exceptional botanical artist of the early 19th century. His depiction of Prunus domestica, commonly known as the plum tree, from 1801-1819, is an outstanding example of his ability to capture the delicate beauty and fine details of plants. Redouté's watercolors are characterized by their vivid coloring and accurate depiction, which remain unmatched in botanical illustration to this day. His works served not only as aesthetic masterpieces, but also as important scientific documentation that contributed to the classification and understanding of plants.
Interesting fact: Redouté had the privilege of working under the patronage of Marie Antoinette and survived the political upheavals of the French Revolution to eventually work for Josephine Bonaparte, Napoleon's wife. His ability to adapt during these turbulent times and remain in demand is a testament to his exceptional talent and importance in the world of art and science.

Our fine art giclée printers use 12 different ink tanks and produce museum-quality art prints. Thanks to specially pigmented inks, significantly more color nuances can be displayed than with conventional printing processes and other providers.
Print medium
We use extra-heavy (400g/m2) premium canvas made from 100% cotton. The high grammage and texture of the canvas ensures a particularly high-quality and almost three-dimensional appearance.
Environmentally friendly
We only use original and high-quality pigment ink which contains real pigment particles. This is UV-resistant, solvent-free, vegan and environmentally friendly.
UV & moisture resistant
Thanks to the UV resistance of our pigment inks, the prints do not fade or discolor and retain their color brilliance for up to 100 years.
