Höstlandskap vid Junsele (1866-1938))
Helmer Osslund, a Swedish painter who lived between 1866 and 1938, is known for his vivid depictions of the Nordic landscape. His work "Höstlandskap vid Junsele" captures the essence of the Swedish autumn with a masterful palette of warm, earthy tones. The trees appear to be on fire while the sky contrasts in a cool blue. Interesting fact: Helmer Osslund did not start his career as a painter, but as an engineer. It was only after a visit to Paris, where he was inspired by the works of the Impressionists, that he decided to pursue his true passion. Another curious detail is that Osslund often painted on wallpaper, as he could not afford canvases. This unconventional choice of painting surface gives his works a unique texture and depth.
