Sous (1919)
In 1919, Félix Vallotton, a master of subtle tension, presented us with "Sous", a work that at first glance appears as calm as a Sunday stroll. But upon closer inspection, a world of nuances and hidden meanings unfolds. The composition is a play of light and shadow that draws viewers into an almost hypnotic silence. Vallotton, known for his keen powers of observation and his ability to transform the everyday into something extraordinary, shows here his incomparable technique and his unique style, which hovers somewhere between realism and symbolism.
Fun fact: Did you know that Vallotton was not only a gifted painter, but also a talented writer? He wrote several novels and plays, but they never achieved the same fame as his paintings. He was also a passionate collector of curious objects, including an impressive collection of antique weapons, which he displayed in his Paris studio.

Our fine art giclée printers use 12 different ink tanks and produce museum-quality art prints. Thanks to specially pigmented inks, significantly more color nuances can be displayed than with conventional printing processes and other providers.
Print medium
We use extra-heavy (400g/m2) premium canvas made from 100% cotton. The high grammage and texture of the canvas ensures a particularly high-quality and almost three-dimensional appearance.
Environmentally friendly
We only use original and high-quality pigment ink which contains real pigment particles. This is UV-resistant, solvent-free, vegan and environmentally friendly.
UV & moisture resistant
Thanks to the UV resistance of our pigment inks, the prints do not fade or discolor and retain their color brilliance for up to 100 years.
